Vintage French Silver Plated Compote Prize From Minister of War.
This very unusual silver plated compote measures just under 3” high and 11” across handle to handle. At the center is a detailed scene of soldiers being honored. The inscription translates from the French to “prize offered by the minister of war “. There is a tiny French makers mark which I cannot make out. This must have been given as a token of honor after WW 2 ended. There are some light surface scratches but no dents missing plating or other problems
