Description
Offered is this lovely PAIR of silverplated Art Nouveau stands supporting cranberry-pink opalescent hobnail bowls or compotes.The silverplate stands are decorated with elaborate flowers, foliage and other designs, typical of the Art Nouveau period.
The stands measure 6.25 inches (16 cm) to the top of the receptacle that holds the bowls. The round well that holds the bowl measures 2.5 inches in diameter (6.5 cm). The well could hold a candle if desired.
The flared bowls measure 2 3/8 inches (6 cm) at the footed base and 7 inches in diameter (18 cm) at the ruffled rim. The height is 3 inches (7.5 cm).
The height from the tabletop to the rim of the bowl is 9.5 inches (24 cm).
We believe these pieces date to the 1890s. The maker is Rogers Smith & Co. of New Haven, Connecticut.
Very good used condition. The silverplate shows some wear. The crystal bowls are in very good condition with no chips or cracks.
