    Description

    This is a beautiful ironstone plate, by J & G. Meakin. It is done in brown, with a white background, and the title is Stratford Stage.
    This Stratford Stage Plate measures 10 ½” (approx.) and weighs 1.5 lbs. (approx.). Through research I’ve not been able to find a date.  The back of the plate has a crown with the wording Royal Staffordshire.  Below that is a Stage with the wording Stratford Stage Ironstone Everlasting Color J & G Meakin (England).  The scene is of a stage being pulled by 4 horses, buildings in the background with trees and people.  I found no cracks, breaks nor chips and the brown coloring is very vivid.
    (Please Read – I’m elderly and can’t smell very well.  All items come from estate, tag or yard sales, etc. so I don’t know if the previous owner was a smoker nor if they had an animal).
