It is hard to find these antique
MILK-GLASS
Cosmetic Cream jars with ANY type of lid on them, let alone the correct lid that originally came with them.   Unlike so many of the milk glass screw top cosmetic jars, this is a super early mold blown jar, well over a century old,
as the opaque purple glass testifies
to.  O
n account of the opaque purple color, you can see with great detail all of the embossed patterns that were molded into the jar.   With clear glass, you look through the embossing which is heavily influenced by the patterns in the background.   But with this opaque purple color, you are looking right at the patterns in the glass so every little detail is highly visible. his jar was exposed to a high heat/light source to enrich the opaque purple color that would naturally occur if exposed to sun light for a prolonged period of time. With few exceptions, only glass from before 1914 will turn this lavender color. Not only does this color make it a great looking jar, but it also authenticates it as being truly antique!
