    Description

    Up for auction is a 1960 Chevrolet C-10 pickup that has had a lot of restoration/customization work put into it.
    This was my father’s car, and one of many project cars he left behind.
    I am selling it for my widowed mother.
    I have a little bit of knowledge of the work that went into it, but unfortunately my father did not leave a detailed description of the work performed and overall condition.
    Therefore, I am providing a description of the truck to the best of my knowledge and have tried to include a lot of pictures.

    I do know that he took the truck down to the frame, removed all corrosion, and applied a corrosion-preventative coating (such as POR-15) to the frame.
    The suspension/chassis components look to be either refurbished or new aftermarket.
    I was told the engine came from a late-2000s Cadillac Escalade.
    The transmission, from the best I can tell, looks to be a 4L80E with a manual valvebody (in other words, it must be manually shifted).
    Here is a full disclosure of the condition of the truck to the best of my knowledge:
    The tailgate says “CORVETTE” instead of “CHEVROLET” simply because my dad loved Corvettes. No other explanation, really.
    The body is in really good condition with no noticeable dings or scratches.
    The trim and badging look to be either refurbished or aftermarket new.
    Aftermarket wheels and near-new tires.
    Equipped with power steering that works well.
    Doors and hood open and close well.
    The weather stripping looks to be new.
    The headlights and taillights work.
    Turn signal lever works, but the turn signal lights do not.
    Windshield wipers work.
    Aftermarket tachometer.
    OBD2 port.
    Odometer doesn’t work so true mileage is unknown.
    There are functional coolant lines to the heater core, but I don’t know if the internal components work (e.g. the blower motor, dash levers etc.)
    The truck is equipped with rear air bags. There is an air compressor under the hood and a PVC air tank at the rear of the truck.
    I don’t know much about this system, other than it works and seems to inflate to the proper height after starting the truck.
    It doesn’t appear the interior was fully finished before my father passed away.
    The seats and carpet look like they were installed temporarily until he had time to fully finish the interior. For example, the seats are from a 1980s Corvette and were painted orange,and the carpet looks to be simply scraps of automotive carpet pieced together that he may have had laying around.
    The new owner may want to put some additional work into the interior to improve the appearance.
    The engine starts after only a few seconds of cranking. I recently pumped out the old gas, put some fresh gas in, and drove it around for a few miles and didn’t notice any hesitation, stalling, or other engine/drivetrain issues.
    I noticed there is light exhaust smoke until the engine is warmed up to operating temperature. I’m not sure what kind of smoke it is, but I don’t believe it’s oil or coolant (but I’m not 100% sure).
    My best guess is the smoke is from a rich air/fuel mixture until it reaches operating temperature.
    The dual exhaust system exits in front of the rear wheels, except the right-side exhaust tip is missing.
    It’s currently just a hole exiting the muffler.
    The height of this truck puts some of the engine, suspension, transmission, exhaust, and various other components very close to the ground.
    I’m not sure how much of an issue scraping and bumping would be during normal driving, but I thought it should be mentioned as something a prospective buyer should be aware of.
    I noticed there were a few minor oil/fluid leaks that appeared after I got it running. One of them looks to be from the rear differential, one of them is near the engine (not sure if it’s transmission fluid, power steering fluid, or engine oil).
    Since I don’t know enough about the overall mechanical condition of the engine/transmission to say with confidence that this could be driven a long distance, I would suggest the prospective buyer either pick it up via truck/trailer or have it shipped.
    The truck is being sold as-is.
    I am not offering a warranty of any kind.
    Once the transaction is complete, the sale is final and I will not offer any refunds, so only serious buyers should place a bid.
    In conclusion, I fully realize this truck is not in perfect condition.
    For this reason, I am not trying to get top dollar out of it and have set the reserve price at what I’ve been told is very fair and reasonable.
    I am just wanting to quickly sell off some of my late father’s assets to get my mom some much-needed money so she can deal with some other pressing financial issues.
    The ideal buyer would be someone who wants a mostly completed truck they could put some additional work into to make it their own.
